Matthew 11:28-30 – “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

Introductory Statements

Matthew 11:28-30 describes not harnessing, in which only one is working; but yoking, in which two share the burden of the work.

It’s encouraging to know that Jesus Christ, the Almighty, the Infinite God, has invited us to join the labor with Him, and not to do the work alone!

Christ, the All Powerful One, helps bear the weight of the yoke; and when we have no strength left, He can refresh and renew us to live for Him!

1) Don’ t Waste Time Trying to Change Someone

  • Romans 14:12 — "So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God."

  • The only person you can change is yourself.

  • Just get people close to the spiritual machinery so they can learn to change themself.

  • It’s like running a chamois through the wringer – but YOU can’t be the wringer.

  • Their changing is their business, and your changing is your business.

  • They have to walk with God.
