Four Kinds of Language We Should Avoid

  1. Lying – “Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another” (Ephesians 4:25).
  2. Foul Language – “Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers” (Ephesians 4:29)
  3. Insult – “He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city” (Proverbs 16:32)
  4. Slander – “He that hideth hatred with lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool” (Proverbs 10:18)
