Bible Version Comparisons, Part 12: The Doctrine of Man

Posted by ProliferatingTruth on March 8, 2010

Psalm 8:4-5 – “What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? 5  For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.”

New versions of the Bible exalt man to a being who is “a little lower than God,” and omit any references to his fallen spiritual condition. Similarly, cults, the New Age movement, and false religions also raise mankind to the level of being either divine, or in the process of evolving into deities [gods].

There is none other commandment greater than these. 32 And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he: 33 And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.

  • In real life, if you don’t step into adulthood, or aren’t guided into adulthood, you’ll be forced into adulthood. Adulthood is inevitable; it’s the transition that’s the important factor.

  • What are some characteristics of a childish person?

  • A childish person has all the characteristics of a child.
