The subject of the contribution of women in the church is often a tender subject. It’s one that isn’t often the subject of general conversation, due to the hard feelings it can cause in some, and the difficulty with which we tend to accept the conclusion of the Scriptures on the subject. Yet this subject, along with several other touchy subjects, cannot be allowed to remain unaddressed. I hope to address this subject with some care and understanding as I present this examination of what the Bible has to say about the role and contribution of women in the church.
We begin with an examination of one key passage on the subject of the role of women in the church, 1 Timothy 2:8-15, and in the future may expand our study to include related passages, especially in the New Testament, though that examination would not be limited exclusively to the New Testament.
