“It Stops Here,” or “I Will Proceed No Further!”
Posted by ProliferatingTruth on December 19, 2009
Job 40:4-5 – "Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my mouth. 5 Once have I spoken; but I will not answer: yea, twice; but I will proceed no further."
"I will proceed no further." This should be a pivotal statement in our lives.
We usually keep ourselves so busy, so mentally preoccupied, sometimes so dumbed and numbed down, that we don’t give ourselves a chance to think about where we stand with God and men. This is because we don’t want to endure what may be necessary to change, and we don’t want to change because we’re happy with who and what we are.
I believe this is an attitude common to all men. We all want to have the security of knowing that we’re fine where we’re at. This is why people don’t want to be confronted about Hell or the reality of their sin.
And this is why the saved don’t want to know where they’re doing wrong. They don’t want to be held responsible for their actions. And so often, they want to step out from underneath authority, and do their own thing.
Introspection is a lost art, because men and women don’t want to deal with their past. But dealing with our past is made simpler by doing a few simple, yet pivotal, things, to keep our Christian life thriving.

Walking with the Holy Spirit of God
Posted by ProliferatingTruth on August 29, 2009
This is a brief, skeleton outline on how to have a walk with the Holy Spirit of God. Feel free to flesh it out and use it as a teaching outline if you’d like!
John 15:26-27 - “When the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me. And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.”
Introductory Statement: I would like to share with you today three reasons, from Scripture and my own experience, that it’s wise and good to have a walk with the Spirit of God.
I. THE SPIRIT OF GOD WILL GIVE YOU A FULLER PERSPECTIVE ON LIFE.
-
He’ll give you discernment in all of life’s relationships;
-
He’ll give you the wisdom of God to deal with difficult situations in your life; and
-
He’ll strengthen you to live in self-restraint, esp. in your REACTIONS to people and situations.
II. THE SPIRIT OF GOD WILL ENABLE GOD’S BLESSINGS TO BE ENACTED IN YOUR LIFE.
-
He will open your eyes to the faithful watchcare of God.
-
He will open your eyes to the secret movements of God.
-
And He will open your eyes to the REALITY of the SOVEREIGNTY of God. And …
III. YIELDING TO THE SPIRIT OF GOD WILL GUIDE YOU INTO ALL THE WILL OF GOD. He will guide you in…
-
The little things;
-
The big things; and
-
The miraculous things.
Concluding Remarks:
-
Christ promises in John 16:13-15 that "When he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come. 14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall show it unto you. 15 All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall show it unto you."
-
So, To gain a fuller perspective on life, to get God’s blessings enacted in your life, and to be guided into all the will of God, you MUST have a DAILY WALK with the Spirit of God.

Walking with Jesus

Luke 14:26-33 – “If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple. For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it? Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him, Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish. Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand? Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace. So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.”
